Teaching yoga has become a joyful passion for me. When I teach yoga I'm able to connect with not only my body but with my students also. I'm originally from San Antonio and been on the Coastal Bend for 10 years now! I've been certified with Aura Wellness Center for the last 2 years and before that had been practicing yoga for 5 years. I currently teach with Texas Surf Camps as their SUP Yoga Instructor and have a few regular classes around the island of Port Aransas! My style of teaching is a flow of Hatha Vinyasa. I create strength, endurance and challenging sequences with a wonderful mix of movement and flow. I have a very versatile approach on teaching yoga and I am able to design sequences for all of my students. From first time yogis to regularly practicing yogis! Meet me at the Balinese Spa every Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 11 am for a yoga experience in their gorgeous, 2nd story and open air studio!

About Yoga

The benefits of Yoga are endless. It is an amazing and relaxing form of exercise for all levels and body types. Some of the more common reasons (besides fun!) to enjoy Yoga are:

Flexibility - Yoga is commonly known to improve body flexibility and mobility. Yoga also helps to improve body alignment resulting in better posture and helping to relieve back, neck, joint and muscle problems.

Better Circulation - Yoga is known to help improve blood circulation in the body.

Stress Relief & Relaxation - Yoga reduces everyday stress on the body. By encouraging relaxation, yoga helps to lower the levels of the stress hormone cortisol. Other benefits include lowering blood pressure and heart rate, improving digestion and boosting the immune system as well as easing symptoms of conditions such as anxiety, depression, fatigue, asthma and insomnia.

Increased Strength - Yoga helps us to use every muscle in the body, helping to increases strength from head to toe. And, while these postures strengthen the body, they also provide an additional benefit of helping to relieve muscular tension.

Inner Peace - The meditative aspects of yoga help many to reach a deeper, more spiritual and more satisfying place in their lives.
We hope that you will join us for a class and make yoga an essential part of your daily life. Feel free to write to us through our contact form and let us know what your favorite benefit of yoga is so we can add it to our list! Be well!

About Our Classes

Hatha yoga refers to a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures), and sequences of asanas, designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body—especially the main channel, the spine—so that energy can flow freely.

Vinyasa yoga, in which movement is synchronized to the breath, is a term that covers a broad range of yoga classes. This style is also called flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance.

Mats are available or bring your own. We have Manduka mats in stock at the spa for purchase. Please Book Online to reserve your space.
